Step 1: Prepare the Bread Machine

Before we dive into the recipe, make sure your bread machine is prepared. Check that the dough cycle is selected and place the pan in the bread machine.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of bread flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of cornmeal, 1 tablespoon of table salt, and 1 tablespoon of bread machine yeast. Use a whisk or spoon to mix these dry ingredients together.

Step 3: Add the Wet Ingredients

After mixing the dry ingredients, slowly pour in 1 cup of warm water into the mixing bowl. With a wooden spoon or spatula, gently mix until all ingredients are combined.

Step 4: Knead the Dough

Once mixed well, transfer the dough to bread machine pan. Set to dough cycle and let it knead for about an hour. The dough should form into a smooth ball.

Step 5: Shape your Muffin Bread

After kneading, take out your dough from your bread machine pan and split it into half. Place each half onto a clean and floured surface. Use your hand or a rolling pin to flatten them out equally.

With a floured biscuit cutter or glass, cut out circular shapes from each flattened dough piece. Place each shape onto greased muffin tin. Cover with plastic wrap and let them rise for about half an hour until they double in size.

Step 6: Bake Your Muffin Bread Recipe

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, remove plastic wrap over muffin tin containing rosen muffins. Bake these at roughly 375 degrees Fahrenheit for around 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Step 7: Let Cool & Serve Your Fat Free English Muffin Bread

Once done, let the muffins bread cool down for a bit. Use a fork to split them and toast them for that perfect crunchy texture, best served with some sweet jam or butter.

Enjoy your healthy homemade English muffins without any added fat!

Moreover, do not open the bread machine during kneading process as series of temperature rise and fall are taking place causing necessary chemical reactions between Flour protein & Yeast which give rise to perfect dough structure.

Once you’ve taken out the dough from machine transfer it to a loaf pan greased with cooking spray or butter before proving.

A bread thermometer is also helpful when checking if your bread is ready. Check for an internal temperature between 190°F-200°F for Fat Free Bread Machine English Muffin Bread. This means that gluten inside has set properly and there is no moisture left in the muffin bread.

Last but not least, let your finished Fat Free English Muffin Bread cool down completely before slicing. It takes patience but this helps keep your muffins’ texture light and airy when toasted.

My Dad's favorite bread for toast! I have been making this bread since 1970! This bread is super fast to put together and I let the bread machine do the work and bake it in a 1 quart casserole in the conventional oven. Good for toast, soups, stews and the occasional cheese sandwich. Prep time does not include rising time, just how long it takes to throw the ingredients into the A B M pan.
