Old English Cream Pie Recipe

This a very simple trifle. You can add chocolate , coconut, or bananas. Or leave it plain. Use it as a pie, it will make 2 pies. Or eat it as a pudding. Anyway you choose, it's great! So just pig out.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 quarts milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions
 

  • In a sauce pan, combine milk and butter.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Mix a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • Slowly whisk 1 c.
  • hot milk mix.
  • into egg.
  • Gradually whisk egg back to remaining milk mix.
  • Continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 min.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Allow to cool.
