Dining Room
The Ship Inn has 3 distinct dining areas. The main dining area is housed in the original
1860s portion of the building. Here, one can enjoy the original exposed brick wall, tin
ceiling and numerous nautical curiosities ranging from ship blueprints on tabletops to benches
removed from the original Staten Island ferry.
The second dining area is adjacent to the brew house.
Here one can gaze out the windows and enjoy creek-side views. On brewing days this area provides a
front row seat to the brewing process.
The final area known as "The Deck" is a cosy area with large
windows providing creek side views for tabels of 2 and 4. The tables in this area were fashioned from ship
hatch covers that likely came from WW2 liberty ships.
Menus
Modern food at The Ship reflects ingredients used in the traditional cuisine of Great Britain and Europe. Menus cover soups to desserts, all made from scratch. Dishes are colourfully designed to take advantage of the greater variety of fresh ingredients available to us. The recipes are lighter for health conscious guests without sacrificing taste. Grass feed or organic beef and chicken dishes are part of our move toward more natural ingredients.
Enjoy the simplicity, variety and good taste which are the hallmarks of great cooking served at NJ's First Brewpub.
